Surprising tasty for a three year old and very reasonably priced

This is one that I am super keen to try. It always seems to rate extremely well (in 2010 Jim Murray gave this a 95). I almost wish they would put the price up, so that it wouldn't always be sold out everywhere. When the distillery keeps on having to say "we are sold out for the next 6 months" you know two things... Its good, and they arent making enough of it!

Just toured Clear Creek where McCarthy's is made with owner Stephen McCarthy. Got to taste a barrel as he is preparing to bottle in June. Awesome experirnce. Check out my website, www.scotch-tasting-bums.com in next few weeks for blog and video on visit

Insanely jelous, Scotchpro! And did you arrange for them to hold aside a bottle or four for you? I do not suppose from your tour you were told, or remember, what sort of quantity of whisky they make per year?

I did not ask about his numbers however he did say he turned down someone who wanted to buy the entire next batch!
