This is another jewel from the Malts of Scotland range.

The nose is deep and rich with raisins and raspberries, a tad of marzipan and loads of apricot. After a few moments, you'll also get orange marmalade and toffee. If you like sherried whiskies, then you'll love this one. Grand nose.

This cask strength whisky can be drunk without deluting it. It has a nice mouthfeel, rather oily. Sweet attack with toffee and loads of caramelised fruits, just like the concoction gran has on the stove when she's making marmelade. Dit is een stevige jongen met zijn 48,9%, maar goed drinkbaar zonder toevoeging van water. There is even a salty touch in there.

The medium finish - I would have preferred if it was a little longer - is a little spicy and leaves your mouth dry. Very good.

This Glencadam is what you'd call a 'swimmer', meaning you can add quite a bit of water if you like (shortening the finish though), but it's not necessary.

It's probably my underdeveloped tasting buds, but I would have expected more depth from a 36 year old dram. Nevertheless, this is another bullseye dram.

You can find an image of the bottle on my blog at blog.whivie.be. Enjoy.
