This sample was one of three from the House of Malt Secret Bottling Series. House of Malt based in Carlisle currently sell 3 expressions as part of their Secret Bottling Series:

"Our Secret Bottlings Series – is a range of very high quality single malts from Scotland’s best distilleries. The fact we don’t state the distillery on the label means we can offer this stunning whisky at just a fraction of the price it would usually be."

I was lucky enough to take part in a Twitter Tasting involving all three bottlings.

Colour:

Pale straw.

Nose:

Honey, dried fruits, slight citrus note and vanilla.

Palate:

Honey, fruit and oak providing a bit of spice and a slightly bitter edge.

Finish:

Oak, spice and honey.

Overall:

I didn't get a great deal from this one - not sure if I was a bit nose blind and needed time to get into the swing of things maybe? A nice sweet dram though, not very complex but certainly an easy drinker.
