Is this why there are so few Lowland distilleries?

Very light straw in color. The Nose is sweet and grassy with whiffs of acetone and banana. The Palate is very alcohol hot, with slight maltiness. With water it seems more oily,n lsightly nutty and malty with a medium finish

Which Jewel is this? The Littlemill 13 year old? My impression of the 13 year differs depending upon what is eaten during the day or before imbibing. A spicy meal or two can destroy the flavor in a rock solid Lowland. The Littlemill 13 is a gem for a 13 year old. If you have the bottle, then don't let an unreliable first impression overwhelm your opinion. This bottling presented as mild Lowland, with fruit not the typical Littlemill that used to make some of us cringe. At 50% ABV, water can help reduce the heat to a more savory expression.
