For my 30th meeting with this Highland distillery I chose a 26-year-old Tullibardine bottled by Cadenhead, especially for Belgian importer The Nectar. This was presented during Spirits in the Sky, the best whisky festival in the Benelux, albeit for the 2019 edition. The nose is already a hit! Nice and fruity on apricots, mandarins and mango with a soft bitter touch like chestnuts or over-infused fruit tea. A cartload of walnuts appears after a few minutes of breathing. Apple juice and lime oil. Pleasant! It is nice and full of flavor, even more so than the already pleasant nose suggested. A lot of yellow and orange fruit with a again soft bitter touch like a grape seed. Beautiful spiciness that supports without dominating. In the medium finish, the walnuts return in full regalia, as well as some vanilla and malt sugars. Very pleasant Tulli. Still to be found for around 150 EUR. Thx, Manny!
