Nose: Very Brandy like. Elegant. Cinnamon, all spice, vanilla, rum Soaked apples and pears, honey, white table grapes, cherries, butterscotch.

Taste: Again the grapes. Followed by oak, very drying tannins, and red Apples and pears. Let it sit and it turns into a sweet honey bomb. The Cherries make their presence known. Heavy body, thick.

F: Strong spice. The oak returns along with the honey to leave a very sticky and dry palate. The apples, cherries, butterscotch return to say one last goodbye.

Very impressed with this Weller. Very fine Bourbon. I've heard many describe a good Bourbon as Cognac like, at last I've met a candidate that actually fits the bill. It's so different from the current Weller available on the market. The current Weller is strong and fruity. Immediately lets you know it's a big boy Bourbon with a strong alcohol presence. This Weller presents itself as more tamed, upon tasting it though, you know it's still the same bourbon in terms of the big body, but, it's so refined. So much more well rounded. The nose and taste is so dramatically different. This Weller's nose is very consistent with it's taste and finish. Although it has a big ABV it only lets you know this on the finish. Otherwise it's smooth, pleasant, and consistent. Excellent balance all around. If only this Weller was available it would no doubt be among the most coveted bourbons around. Excellent.
